Frequently Asked Questions

Research Products Overview

What are research peptides?

Research peptides are short chains of amino acids supplied for laboratory, analytical, and other research applications. All Honest Peptide products are sold For Research Use Only (RUO) and are not intended for human or veterinary use.

What does “For Research Use Only” mean?

For Research Use Only, or RUO, means the product is supplied solely for laboratory research and analytical applications. Honest Peptide products are not approved for human or animal administration, therapeutic use, diagnosis, or treatment.

Do I need a prescription to purchase research peptides from Honest Peptide?

No. Honest Peptide products are laboratory research materials and are not prescription medicines.

Are your peptides supplied as powders or solutions?

Unless otherwise stated on the product page, our peptides are supplied in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form. Lyophilization removes water from the material to improve stability during storage and transportation. Depending on the compound and manufacturing process, the material may appear as a cake, powder, film, or other dried form. Differences in physical appearance do not necessarily indicate a difference in identity or purity.

Testing & Quality Standards

Is every batch independently tested?

Yes. Each batch undergoes independent third-party analytical testing. Testing documentation is associated with the applicable product and batch and is made available through the product page and our COA Library.

How are Honest Peptide products tested?

Our testing program uses independent third-party analytical laboratories to verify product identity, purity, peptide content, and other quality characteristics. Testing may include:

  1. Mass Spectrometry (MS) — verifies molecular identity.
  2. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) — measures peptide purity.
  3. Net Peptide Content — measures the amount of peptide present in the tested material.
  4. Heavy Metals Testing (ICP-MS) — screens for specified elemental contaminants such as lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury.
  5. Fentanyl Screening (LC-MS/MS) — tests for the presence of fentanyl as a potential contaminant.
  6. Endotoxin Testing (Bacterial Endotoxin / LAL Assay) — Endotoxins are inflammatory compounds, also known as lipopolysaccharides (LPS). This testing checks that endotoxin levels are within the laboratory’s specified limits.

The tests performed for a particular batch are shown on its applicable Certificate of Analysis or laboratory report, which can be found on the relevant product page or in our COA Library.

What quality standards must a batch meet?

Every Honest Peptide batch must meet our release specifications before it is made available for sale:

  • Identity: The peptide must be confirmed as the expected compound by mass spectrometry.
  • Purity: Minimum 99% HPLC purity.
  • Peptide content: The measured peptide content must be within 10% of the stated amount on the vial. Overfill is acceptable.
  • Contaminants: The batch must pass all applicable contaminant testing, with no tested contaminants detected above the laboratory’s specified limits.

The applicable analytical results are published in the batch-specific COA or laboratory report.

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A Certificate of Analysis is a laboratory report documenting the analytical results for a tested batch. You can view the latest available COA directly on the applicable product page or browse our COA Library.

Are your COAs batch-specific?

Yes. COAs correspond to the tested batch or lot identified on the report.

How do I match my product to its COA?

Each production batch is assigned a batch or lot identifier corresponding to its analytical documentation. Use the identifying information associated with your product to locate the relevant report in our COA Library or on the applicable product page.

Can I view testing from previous batches?

Yes. We publish testing for every batch ever sold. Previous batch testing is retained in our COA Library so that historical analytical results can also be reviewed.

Who performs your analytical testing?

Testing is conducted by independent third-party analytical laboratories rather than relying solely on manufacturer-issued documentation. The laboratory responsible for a particular analysis is identified on the applicable test report.

Ordering & Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

Available payment methods are displayed at checkout.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes. Volume discounts are offered on our products and displayed on the applicable product page. Qualifying discounts are automatically reflected in your cart. For larger or wholesale orders, please contact hello@honestpeptide.com.

How do I know my order was received?

Once your order has been successfully submitted, you will receive an order confirmation by email. For certain payment methods, confirmation may be sent once payment has been verified.

Can I change or cancel an order?

Email hello@honestpeptide.com as soon as possible with your order number. We’ll do our best to accommodate changes or cancellations before the order has been processed for shipment.

Shipping

When will my order ship?

Orders placed on weekdays before our daily shipping cutoff typically ship the same business day. Orders placed after the cutoff, on weekends, or on holidays will typically ship the next business day. Carrier delays and other circumstances outside our control may occasionally affect processing or delivery times.

How long does shipping take?

Most U.S. orders arrive within approximately 2–5 business days after shipment, depending on the selected service and destination. You’ll receive tracking information by email once your order ships.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States.

Do you ship to P.O. boxes?

We currently ship to U.S. street addresses. Please use a physical delivery address rather than a P.O. box.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Orders of $120 or more qualify for free shipping automatically at checkout.

How can I track my order?

We’ll email you tracking information as soon as your shipment has been processed by the carrier. If your tracking has not been updated for an extended period, contact hello@honestpeptide.com and we’ll help investigate.

Will a shipping delay affect a lyophilized peptide?

Lyophilization significantly improves peptide stability during storage and transportation. Brief exposure to normal shipping temperatures generally does not compromise sealed lyophilized material. Stability can vary by compound and conditions, however. If your shipment experiences an extended delay, extreme temperatures, or arrives damaged, contact us with your order number.

Returns, Refunds & Order Issues

What is your refund policy?

If there is a problem with your order, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Depending on the circumstances, we will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund.

How do I request a refund or replacement?

Email hello@honestpeptide.com with:

  • Your order number
  • A brief description of the issue
  • Photos of the product and packaging, when relevant

Our team will review the issue and help resolve it.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact hello@honestpeptide.com with your order number and photos of the shipment. We’ll review the issue and arrange a resolution.

Storage & Handling

How should lyophilized peptides be stored?

Follow the storage instructions provided on the applicable product page, label, and product documentation. For long-term storage, many lyophilized peptides are stored sealed at approximately –20 °C, protected from moisture and light. Storage requirements may vary by compound.

Does a lyophilized peptide have a fixed shelf life?

Peptide stability depends on the compound and storage conditions, including temperature, moisture, light exposure, and handling. Refer to the applicable product documentation for storage guidance rather than treating a single shelf-life estimate as applicable to every peptide.

Where can I find more detailed handling and storage information?

For product-specific information, refer to the applicable product page.
